Are you afraid of black cats,
Friday the 13th, walking under ladders, and the seven years of bad luck that
shall ensue now that you've broken your mother's mirror? Well knock on wood,
it's your lucky day! Sacred Machine Presents Thirteen, the tiny show that packs
a powerful punch, lending itself to ungodly forms of superstitious enigmas.
These works of a mysterious nature are completely, utterly, and unforgivingly
about superstitions and the superstitious way we hold onto superstitions, the
supernatural, the mystical, and the bizarre.Participating artist’s work has appeared in and been commissioned by The New York Times, Juxtapoz Magazine, Hi-Fructose Magazine, Time Magazine, The Washington Post, LA Times, the Academy Award winning movie 'Traffic' by Steven Soderbergh, on multi-platinum album covers, illustrated children’s books, published monographs, and advertising for clients such as Sony and Toyota.

This writing connects the last remaining speck of Atlantis with a tiny island in the Atlantic called Bimini, and presents many of the artworks (including esoteric energy paintings) created by Kox on the Island over a period of eleven years, along with the Apocalyptic Visual Parable paintings inspired directly by the Bimini setting. The Picture Perfect Jesus series was created in Bimini (2003-2004). Many of those images are included in A SPECK OF ATLANTIS - BIMINI: THE TOP OF GOD'S MOUNTAIN. Several of the images have appeared in the Raw vision article mentioned below, along with a detailed description of how they came to be:"Masquerade" is an article by Professor David Damkoehler, in the Raw Vision 2008 Winter Issue #65 (December) about Norbert H. Kox's artworks depicting Warner Sallman's Head Of Christ. Damkoehler offers insights into understanding the subversive imagery in Kox's paintings: "In 1992 Norbert H. Kox inherited a framed print, a portrait of Christ that had hung in a prominent position in his parents' home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This portrait was to inspire a series of skillfully executed works that exploit visual and textual puns to illustrate Kox's deeply skeptical attitude towards organized religion. ..."

There is virtually no longer any way to escape New York.
Headline: Hurricane Sandy forces mass transit closure, evacuations (note: For those who have not already fled, there is virtually no longer any way out).
MYFOXNY.COM/AP - Transit officials in New York were carrying out
a total shutdown of subway, bus and train service as Hurricane
Sandy headed to the metropolitan region (The city's mass transit system is the
nation's largest. The subway alone has a daily ridership of more than 5
million). All service was starting to be suspended at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
East Coast and New York warnings.
To all my friends on the East Coast of the US, especially in the New York
area,
I'm extremely concerned for your safety and I pray that you are doing what is necessary to escape the possible ravage of Hurricane Sandy if she hits the way she is expected to.
The nightmare prophecy is upon us. Just received a shocking email from my son, "Dad, Here's the Hurricane you wrote about... you know, the one that will destroy New York! It's supposed to hit early next week and could push 5-10' storm surge into the Big Apple."
This may be the end for New York and others along the way! I warned you about it five years ago, in my book The End Is Come, when I told you it was coming. If you live in New York city get out now. If you wait any longer you may not escape. Between October 29-31 the super-storm is set to hit and the entire city may be underwater. "Hurricane Sandy is expected to affect between 50 million and 60 million people, emergency management and weather officials warned Saturday afternoon. The storm will affect the eastern third of the country -- not just the coast." (ABC World News).

Check out this terrifying Fox News report:
Do an internet video search for
"hurricane-sandy-superstorm". It will stand your hair on end!
"A horrendous destruction is about to consume the entire New York City
area. Repercussions on the entire country will be horrifying. It is all detailed
in The End Is Come by Norbert H. Kox (2007, Amazon). This great doom is
prophesied in the Bible and confirmed by current warnings of seismologists and
meteorologists. The Bible Code Has recorded virtually every major incident and
important historical event since the beginning of time, all written and recorded
before they happened. The 9-11 attack on New York is accurately recorded in
great detail. An even more devastating tragedy is recorded for New York. It has
the potential to produce the worst human suffering since the great flood. It
could conceivably be a destruction from which the land will never
recover."
I really hope I am wrong and I hope the weather
reporters are wrong, but I'm afraid this may be it. So brace yourself for the
worst. If you are not planning to evacuate New York, I would suggest you say
your prayers and make your peace while you can. A number of my beloved friends
live in New York. I pray you take heed and save yourselves from this probable
disaster.
My heart and thoughts are with you and you are in my
prayers,
Love and concern,
Norbert H. Kox
P.S. Just a couple of days ago I spoke with a friend on
the Island of Bimini and he did not seem concerned as he was only expecting a
tropical storm, not a hurricane. Have not had any more word so I do not know how
they fared, but overall the Caribbean was hit hard with over 40 deaths, mostly
in Haiti.

I had mentioned that I was creating a flip-book titled "Fabricate Your Idol."Although some references do call this type of presentation a flip book (a true flip-book is usually an animation) this mix-and-match format is more commonly referred to as a split-page book, where you turn different parts of each page to arrange various combinations of pictures and text.A split-page book split into three, with 12 spreads, yields 2666 different combinations <http://twisted-genius.squarespace.com/journal/2007/12/23/digital-dream-team.html>My split-page book, split into three, with 7 spreads, should present well over 1000 different combinations.
The night that I documented the finished book, I photographed 58 different variations and had hardly gotten started.

This is the End My Friend: Visions of Post Apocalyptic Worlds.
Whitewater, WI.
This exhibition will include the newest collaborative painting by Norbert H. Kox and William Thomas Thompson. Title, "Apocalypse," 2012, acrylic on canvas, 8.5-ft x 12-ft. If you saw the "Babylon 2012," exhibition at Lawton Gallery, UW-Green Bay, July 27, 2012, you saw the under-painting of "Apocalypse" in-progress. Come to This is the End My Friend... and see the finished work! Believe me this is something you do not want to miss.Crossman Gallery, UW-Whitewater: October 17 – November 17, 2012. Opening reception: October 17 from 5-7 pm
Over the past few years, many have pointed to the supposed end of the world as seen in the Maya calendar that seems to show an end point of December 21, 2012. This exhibit, scheduled to take place before that end, will look at both historic and contemporary artists who have illustrated The End. We are fortunate to have in our Permanent Collection a number of works created in Post World War I Germany. Internationally renowned collectors Marvin and Janet Fishman donated the items and the work demonstrates the depth of the devastation that took place in Germany following the end of the Great War. This group of drawings and prints by George Grosz, Rudolf Schlichter and Wilhelm Höpfner depict macabre scenes reflecting the post war chaos and destruction of lives and property. In work by more contemporary artists we will see evidence of another round of anxiety brought on by fears of global conflicts and economic collapse.
The exhibit will include examples from the Permanent Collection, and special loans from artists and collectors. Proposed artists include John Balsley, Tom Berenz, Eugene Von Bruenchenhein, Warrington Colescott, Jeffrey Bogartte, Karl Jahnke, Maxim Kantor, Käthe Kollwitz, Norbert Kox and William Thompson, Richard Notkin, Jean-Pierre Roy and James Stephens. Other artists are also under consideration.
Opening reception date: October 17 from 5-7 pm

Opening reception date: October 17 from 5-7 pm

visionary artist Norbert H. Kox, now available (8 1/2 x 11 paperback, 118 pages, 149 color images, printed in USA on archival paper) http://nkox.homestead.com/BooksByNHK.html
This portrait was to inspire a series of skillfully executed works that exploit visual and textual puns to illustrate Kox's deeply skeptical attitude towards organized religion. ..." http://www.rawvision.com/resources/norbert-kox
