2. September 20, 2011, a group of more than thirty Luxembourgers of America led by Wisconsin's Luxembourg Cultural Center Director Kevin Wester, and Robert Johanns of Luxembourg, visited the exhibition of Kox and Diaz at Galerie Toxic. They were greated at the gallery by owner Armand Hein and Jo Kox of Casino Luxembourg (contemporary art museum) and artist Norbert Kox, of Wisconsin. Arrangements for the visit had been made at the Luxembourg Fest in Belgium, Wisconsin (August 12-14, 2011) where the Cox/Kox families were among those honored this year. Board member Robert Johanns, upon viewing the Cox/Kox display, had noted that the Koxes of Luxembourg are his friends. The Galerie Toxic invitation card was displayed on the table and Mr. Johanns immediately placed it on his calendar for the Luxembourg tour group to attend.

3. Kox's Brain/Heart painting on the Galerie Toxic invitation card is now appearing simultaneously (courtesy of Galerie Toxic) in a special exhibition in Martigny, Switzerland, which opened September 3, 2011. The painting was done in Bimini, Bahamas, 2010-2011, and illustrates how the brain and the heart are tied together in a complex communication system that produces electrical frequencies linked too the spirit realm.

4. La Luz de Jesus, Los Angeles, public openings October 7 & 8, 2011 (Part 1) and November 4 & 5, 2011 (Part 2). Kox artwork in Part 1: image.
The Friday and Saturday night openings are from 8-11 PM.
LA LUZ DE JESUS 25, is the biggest show in the history of La Luz de Jesus. It is so big that it's going to take two months to showcase it all.
On the weekends of October 7th and November 4th we'll be celebrating our twenty-fifth year of groundbreaking exhibitions with a show including almost everyone who's ever been featured here.

Billy Shire has masterminded and organized a monumental group show featuring over 250 artists, each of whom have contributed one new piece and a written anecdote about their experience with the gallery. This is La Luz de Jesus Gallery's first survey, featuring three generations of the most important artists working today. There will also be a book -a companion to the show, chronicling the rich legacy of La Luz de Jesus and the movements it helped launch. A complete index of both months can be accessed by following this link.

"Masquerade" is an article by David Damkoehler, in the Raw Vision 2008 Winter Issue #65 (December), about Norbert H. Kox's artworks depicting Warner Sallman's Head Of Christ. Damkoehler offers insights into understanding the subversive imagery in Kox's paintings: "In 1992 Norbert H. Kox inherited a framed print, a portrait of Christ that had hung in a prominent position in his parents' home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This portrait was to inspire a series of skillfully executed works that exploit visual and textual puns to illustrate Kox's deeply skeptical attitude towards organized religion. ..."
